The Ignite Curriculum

The Ignite Curriculum is Young Phoenix Academy’s unique educational framework. It is guided by the Australian Government’s Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Curriculum.

The Ignite Curriculum focuses on educating and caring for the whole child to support their Belonging, Becoming, and Becoming from birth through to their transition to primary school.

It combines structured and unstructured play-based learning experiences to expose children to various learning styles. We weave learning through play and interest-based exploration into every aspect of our day.

The goal of the Ignite Curriculum is to provide a personalised approach to early education that ignites a life-long passion for learning.

Key Learning Areas in the Ignite Curriculum

Our Ignite Curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and focuses on Identity, Wellbeing, Relationships, Learning, and Communication. Our goal is to nurture children’s learning confidence as the foundation for life-long learning.

Identity

We provide children with meaningful ways to develop a strong sense of identity as the foundation for positive self-esteem and learning confidence.

Relationships

Children learn about their connection and contribution to our world by exploring diversity, culture, community groups, sustainability, and fairness.

Wellbeing

We encourage children to participate in daily movement and wellbeing activities to promote physical development and healthy lifestyle choices.

Learning

We provide children with meaningful learning experiences to develop foundational knowledge and skills through play, projects, and intentional teaching.

Communication

Children develop communication skills through reading, expression, investigating ideas, and developing an understanding of signs, symbols, and patterns.

Creativity

Through art, craft, role play, dress ups, and drama children develop their confidence, creativity, and individuality.
